Today, it is the tourist infrastructure that surrounds this historical gem. Despite a moderate tourist influx, Contes retains its authenticity and offers treasures from another time. Among them is the Eastern tower of the old ramparts, now the bell tower of the church Sainte-Marie-Madeleine. This 16th-century church, located in the heart of the village, is also accompanied by a magnificent Renaissance fountain dating from 1587.
