L'associación de lucha contra el cáncer de Alpes-Maritimes presenta sus mejores deseos para un año lleno de esperanza y solidaridad

At the beginning of the year, the Alpes-Maritimes Cancer Fighting Association wanted to express its wishes during a ceremony filled with emotion and determination. This evening not only allowed for a review of the actions carried out in 2024, but also to outline ambitious projects for a new year driven by ideals of hope and solidarity.

On Friday, January 31, 2025, the association gathered the stakeholders in the fight against cancer to celebrate its achievements from the previous year and look towards the future. This gathering is a key moment to strengthen the bonds between members and supporters who make these actions possible.

A message of hope from the president

Laurence Cressin-Bensa, president of the Alpes-Maritimes League Against Cancer, opened the evening with inspiring words. She expressed her gratitude to all those who have contributed to the cause through their donations and invaluable help. “Thanks to your solidarity, we have made concrete advances for patients,” she stated, while emphasizing the work that remains to be done to ensure equitable access to care.

A 2024 review marked by new initiatives

The retrospective of the past year revealed a multitude of promising initiatives. Among these, the opening of new Maisons Axel Kahn in Nice and Antibes was highlighted as a cornerstone for support for the sick. Additionally, the launch of the Proxy League system was praised for allowing isolated patients to benefit from home support care.

Towards an even more promising future

For 2025, the association plans to intensify its efforts by strengthening existing systems and introducing new actions. The focus will be on continuing support care in rural areas, a development of the prevention program in schools regarding HPV vaccination and the fight against tobacco, as well as a strengthening of partnerships with businesses to ensure stable support.

The importance of support care in the patient journey

During this ceremony, Professor René-Jean Bensadoun, an oncology specialist, reminded everyone how essential support care is. His statements highlighted that these services not only improve the quality of life for patients but also increase their chances of survival. His passion for this cause resonated in the minds, sending a strong message of necessity for these supports.

A continuous commitment for a battle to win

With determination, Laurence Cressin-Bensa concluded the ceremony by stating that cancer remains a fight, but it is a struggle that can be won together. Her message echoed as a promise of perseverance, with the unfailing support of members and sympathizers. The projection of a short film then reinforced the impact of the association’s actions, illustrating their reach on the lives of patients and their families.
