The guide in a few words
Sortir en PACA (sortir-en-paca.fr) is an online guide to outings and tourism in Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, covering the six departments of the region: Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Hautes-Alpes, Alpes-Maritimes, Bouches-du-Rhône, Var and Vaucluse. It is published in French, English, German, Italian and Spanish by Agence BDOR.
What you will find
- Destinations: the French Riviera, Provence and the Southern Alps, the six departments, the islands and the coast.
- Things to do: the must-sees, towns and villages, heritage, castles, museums, caves, landscapes and gorges, parks, beaches and calanques, hiking, cycling, water sports, winter sports and family outings.
- What’s on: ideas for outings, festivals, local festivities and traditions, Provençal markets, Christmas in Provence.
- Food and local produce: local produce, vineyards, recipes and craftsmanship.
- Plan your stay: when to go, getting around, summer access to the massifs, passes and guided tours, where to stay.
How the guide is made
Each place guide brings together the essentials you need to decide and get organised: address, opening hours, prices, access, best season and places to see nearby. Practical information is dated and its sources are cited at the end of the article. The rules that guide our writing are set out in our editorial policy, and the team is introduced on the Editorial team page.
The guide also improves thanks to its readers: the “Has something changed?” form in every article reports an error to the editors, and organisers can suggest their events for the events calendar.

The guide is free. It is funded by advertising and by partner links (activities and accommodation) that may earn us a commission. This income decides neither which places are featured nor what we think of them. Content paid for by an advertiser is always labelled “Sponsored content”.
